Our weekend away in Kelowna
When my mom asked if Hudson and I would like to join her in Kelowna for a few nights, it felt like the perfect escape. I really needed just a few days away! Mark and I have a great relationship, but it’s nice to have some time away once in a while. How can you and your husband ever miss each other if no one ever leaves!? Am I right? So I packed his travel stroller, our bathing suits, and a few other essentials and off we went!
Kelowna is only a 3 1/2 hour drive from Vancouver and the drive is quite lovely! My mom had a work function to attend, so she was very busy the first couple of days. Hudson and I relaxed at the hotel, walked around town, and visited a friend. Kelowna is nestled on Lake Okanagan and surrounded by vineyards, orchards and mountains.
Our first stop upon arrival was lunch at Quail’s Gate Winery. Probably my favorite winery in Kelowna! The food (and wine) is fantastic and the views of the lake are spectacular. After being stuck in the car for a few hours it was nice to sit on their patio with a glass on vino and enjoy some yummy lunch.
After lunch we went did a wine tasting and bought a few bottles to take home as gifts. There are over 200 vineyards in Kelowna and over 100 wineries, many of them with restaurants, gift shops, or offering tours. It gets really busy in the summer, so it was nice to visit in early May before the crowds flocked to Kelowna for holiday season.
We stayed at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, nestled right on the lake. It was perfect for us, as it was walking distance to town (via a lakeside walkway), and close to all the shops and restaurants.
Each morning we enjoyed grabbing a coffee and walking the quiet waterfront boardwalk. Hudson loved looking at the boats, the birds, and just breathing in fresh lakeside air.
The pool at the Lake Okanagan Resort is fantastic! It’s partially inside and sprawls outside next to the lake. Hudson is so comfortable in the water and loves jumping off the edge of the pool into mama’s arms. Swimming at the hotel pool was probably the highlight of the trip for him. It was nice and warm too!
On the final day we stopped for lunch at Mission Hill Winery and strolled around the grounds. This breathtakingly beautiful winery sits on the top of the hill in West Kelowna and the views are stunning. Hudson, Grandma and I had a great little getaway to the Okanagan!
We are heading to Osoyoos in July, so make sure to check back for more on the Okanagan!

Hello ,
I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.
I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?
I also want to improve SEO of my website. Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)
I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂
Hope to hear from you soon.
P.S.
Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?
