How to keep Holiday Gift Giving Stress Free this Christmas!

How to keep Holiday Gift Giving Stress Free this Christmas!

This post is in partnership with shopping.ca a brand I love. The gift card was sent to my by Guildford Town Centre. All thoughts and ideas are my own.

How to Keep Holiday Gift Giving Stress Free!

Tis the season to be jolly… or constantly late, overwhelmed, and stressed!  The good news is, there truly is no need to feel that way this holiday season! There is also no reason to give or receive unwanted or awkward gifts (you all know what I’m talking about).  Save the hassle and headache this year! I’ve put together a little list of how to make giving gifts a little easier this time of year, and how to stay calm while doing it!

Enlist your children to help!

Babies make the perfect tape holders and present props! If anything, having a cutie smiling at you while you work away makes it all a little more merry! Oh, and when gifting… you can always use the excuse “the kids picked the present out for you” – Then they have to love it right!?

Buy good quality gift wrap and tags!

The worst is working with paper that rips while you’re trying to wrap a present! Or tags that don’t allow you to write with pen! Don’t end up frustrated like I have before!  Better yet, gifting a Shopping.ca gift card that comes complete in a stylish little box, saves all the hassle!

Tea & coffee for the Win!

It’s the time of year when specialty coffee, cozy teas and big mugs of hot chocolate are most appreciated! I like to enjoy a cup while I wrap presents, while I’m shopping (thanks Starbucks in the mall), and I enjoy a refreshing peppermint tea right before bed (while I’m patting myself on the back for a great job done)! Note: Cute coffee mugs also make great gift card holders!

Have fake snowball fights with your kids to ease holiday stress!

These fake snowballs look and feel exactly like real snow (minus the cold), but they are soft and harmless! These white balls of fluff might be all we have when it comes to snow this year, plus they are mess-free – so we stocked up!

Include Photos with Gifts and Cards!

This is such an easy gift and addition that family members LOVE receiving! My mom says all she ever wants each year is photos of the kids… but I know better 😉 Truth is… in this day and age printed photos aren’t the norm, and they are much appreciated by the grandparents, aunts & uncles, as well as distant relatives!

Take a Rest when you Need it!

I’m not so great at this one, but with all the holiday hustle and bustle, this is something I often forget to do! It’s not easy to wrap presents lying down (I’ve tried it), so make sure you are well rested when it’s time to tackle that to-do list and finish up your holiday shopping and wrapping!

Relax with Smelly Seasonal Candles

It’s the time of year to light those festive candles you’ve been holding onto all year long! Let the scents of fresh cut trees, egg nog, even roast turkey float through the house all December long! Because these scents just aren’t appropriate the rest of the year, are they?

Gift the gift card that everyone loves!

In real life, December comes around in a flash, and as lovely as finding that perfect gift for someone is…in reality it’s often (A LOT) harder than it sounds. I’ve spent countless hours hunting down presents I think my friends and family will love, only to find them re-gifted the next year during the “gift exchange game” (true story). Shopping.ca gift cards are available to buy online and at various shopping malls for gift amounts between $25 and $1000. They give countless options for EVERY single person on your list. This gift card was sent to me by Guildford Town Centre, and can be used as well at Metropolis at Metrotown, Tsawwassen Mills, and many other shopping centres across Canada!

Don’t be bashful, tell people what you want!

Every year those close to me ask what I would like for Christmas, and I usually say “hmmm… I really don’t need much”. Sometimes I’ll ask for a new sweater or a pair of slippers, but usually end up with something I probably wouldn’t have chosen! This year I’m smartening up and asking for Shopping.ca gift cards! I’ve already hinted to my hubby, and made his Christmas List a little shorter. These gift cards make the BEST “stocking stuffers”! Click Here to find out where the card can be used!

Just Keep Smiling!

The month of December sneaks up on us every single year! I always vow to start my shopping earlier and be more organized, but with two littles this is not an easy task! It’s the season for giving, the season for family, and for JOY! Remember to take the time to enjoy it and soak it all in! I’ve learned to just keep smiling 🙂
